Today I had to cancel a long overdue smear test, for the second time, because I have just come on my period. 13 friggin days late, and 1.5 hours before my appointment. I have been feeling like I am about to start my period for about 3 weeks and now it decides to arrive? Wtaf.

I had really started to think maybe I won't have another. I am 50 in a couple of months so not out of the question. My periods are bloody horrible as well so I really will not miss them.

Anyway I am fed up with aches and stress and all the shitty moods and nonsense around being female. So I wanted to post, solidarity with all the other women in a messed up relationship with their bodies. Hope we get our rhythm back.

How frustrating! Mine always had a way of starting when i was traveling, like the day off or soon into it. How many beginnings of trips were fogged over by this!

I feel you. I am 50 too. I am going on a European trip in less than 2 weeks and wondering now if AF is going to turn up and literally spoil the party. I have monstrous PMT so it seems likely but who frickin' knows these days?? My last two or three periods have involved flooding which I've previously avoided so not ideal for a road trip with dodgy toilets and wees in fields.
I'm SO sick of peri now. I think I've been in it for at least seven years, maybe more. I've had a couple of spells of no period for a few months but now they're back semi regular again. Fed up with all the weird shite, all of it. I've been very patient and gone along with it but come on - enough is enough surely?
And no, I still don't want HRT.

I have been suggested a mirena coil for flooding/ irregularity issues. Trying Tranexamic acid first though
