I'm currently taking a multi vit, vit c & zinc and a gut health supplement

Be interested to know what other people are taking? Particularly with regards to magnesium

Glucosamine, Vitamin D and Vitamin B.
The last time I tried Magnesium it went right through me - I think I bought the wrong type!

Quite a few! as I can’t take HRT.

Lions Mane - for brain fog and memory
Ashwaganda - to help balance hormones (has helped increase sex drive too!)
Tumeric - anti inflammatory to help joint pain and an antioxidant
Magnesium
Vitamin D3 - I was tested and was extremely low, as are lots of people apparently. So an important one
Vitamin B complex
Selenium - to boost immune system
High strength fish oil - joints and bones and lots of other benefits
Starflower oil - Recommended for menopause
NAC N-Acetyl-Cysteine - Brain health and lots of other benefits

Just bought Plant Sterols for high cholesterol, and Berberine as lots of health benefits apparently. Think I need to stop buying so many supplements, but menopause is making me anxious about my health! 😁

I'm taking a magnesium I got from Holland and Barrett..since have started this have stopped waking up with achey joints.

Are people taking these on top of HRT? I am nearly at the end of my tether with symptoms and can't really add anymore HRT, so feel I may as well stop it. I am worried about not taking the HRT for the protective benefits.

My main symptoms are my anger prior to my period, still having night sweats and joint pain.
The supplements are quite overwhelming as there are so many and, I am sure some are just money making. It is hard to work out which ones are worth the money.

I'm only taking magnesium at the moment for sleep (it's worked amazingly) but had realised it cured joint pain I hadn't associated to peri.

I'm still on the pill progesterone only so I'm rolling with this for a little while longer before next symptoms kick in.

Had some good rage today though.... but could be work related!

Does gin count? Not taking any (and not drinking that much gin) but do try to eat healthier than I did.

henlake7 · 01/05/2024 04:27

Im taking turmeric, omega 3, magnesium, calcium, allicin, D3, B and iodine. (the last 2 are more for the veganism then the menopause!).

Wallywobbles · 01/05/2024 04:48

Im taking a minimum of 8/day.
Cod liver oil
Tumeric
Lions mane
Multiguard ADR -amazing multivitamin for brain fog
Glucosamine
Collagen
Boswellia
Life Extension Menopause 731 which seem to have stopped the hot flushes.

A lot of them are for joints admittedly. Currently very fat but pain free.

Just hrt with testosterone.

I focus on getting nutrients from a healthy diet, so lots of oily fish for omega 3, collagen and creatine and vit d, fermented food for gut health, eating 30+ plants a week and avoiding emulsifiers and ultra processed food that will damage the gut and interfere with nutrient absorption. My vit d levels stay high in winter without supplementation.
