Testogel

So following on from my GP request to revert back from patches to femoston I also asked for Testogel - much to my surprise the doctor agreed to this. My energy levels are non existent and my libido left the building years ago.. looking for reviews good and bad! Been given a pump (yet to collect) told to start with a small mini pea size - slightly nervous but hopeful

It's good - but it took me a long time to feel the effects - more like six months I'd say. I have just switched (today) from taking utrogestan to a mirena coil so I'm hoping this will help my energy levels and be the final piece of the puzzle!

The testogel definitely does help though - I am back running and walking for exercise now which was unthinkable a year ago.

You've given me hope! 🙏

Good luck op. I do rate mine for energy levels. The coil sucked the life out of me, T gave it back to me.

First pea gel applied.. dried quite quickly! I really hope this brings the spring back into my step. Felt so sleepy all day today, zero motivation.

Maybe take in the morning. Some women report problems sleeping if taken late afternoon/evening .

Well.. I feel absolutely no different yet! I guess it's early days 😁 I'm still very low on energy, hoping this kicks in sometime soon.

I have been taking it for 6 weeks and am feeling great on it, I noticed more energy as a gradual thing, huge libido during ovulation but not so much the rest of the month but the biggest bonus is that it seems to have cured my acid reflux. I have been making the pack last 25 days so on a v low dose. Hope you start to feel the benefits soon.

olderbutwiser · 01/05/2024 17:41

Mine worked very very quickly on my libido. (My oestrogen had just been upped 3 months before). It worked so well that within a couple of weeks I had a startling insight into what it must be like to be a horny teenager, with a desperate need to 'scratch the itch' shall we say. It's both appalling and fantastic at the same time.

It's now subsided to more reasonable levels for a couple of our age.

Most people don't have such a dramatic response - I know it's mostly a slow build.

Good luck.

Oh my.. ☺️ I've not been this sexually charged for some time! It's erm somewhat strong without being too graphic. It's like my internal battery has been plugged into the mains.

I found the same mockingbird but it only lasted for 5 days around ovulation and is back down to zero again now. I am interested to see if it does the same this month. If so I might need to find a way of more finely adjusting the dose.

rockingbird · 07/05/2024 15:15

Oh interesting! Do report back if you are able, it's certainly perked me up a little 😆

Will do, it came as a big shock to me. I would also be interested to hear how you get on.

I did a big lovehoney order when mine peaked, my poor DH didn't know what to think. The only other time when my libido has been as high was in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy which I think is another time of high testosterone.

rockingbird · 09/05/2024 05:51

Reporting back in as I've developed some strange side effects.. bizarre vivid dreams!! Last night just after falling asleep I had a very strange dream, I recall the same happened a couple of days back. Anyone else experienced this?? I'm known for talking in my sleep so this is most definitely not a good sign.

Hi there, I know it is an old thread, so my post might be missed. How did you get testogel prescribed ?
I thought GPs aren’t allowed to prescribe it? Did you get referred to a specialist?
Thanks

Droolylabradors · 02/09/2024 13:57

@Louna78 I think it varies. My GP was very happy to prescribe it after a baseline blood test. It's worked very well for me.

I asked for it once I'd been on HRT for 6 months.

Thegreatgiginthesky · 03/09/2024 17:37

@louna78 my GP refused to prescribe it so I got a prescription through superdrug's online doctor. I get private blood tests at baseline, 3 months,6 months and 1 year. Once you get the prescription you can buy it from other online pharmacies which are cheaper than superdrug.

Louna78 · 03/09/2024 23:18

Thanks both for replying, just got prescribed HRT and will get a review in 3 months with a blood test, see if things are improving, all new to this 🙂
