Chills / shivers - peri symptom?

I’m 47 and never had this before. Periods are still pretty regular, though I did have one a week early a couple of months ago.

This month, just before my period started I felt really shivery. Like I had the chills and my whole body is also aching. I’m also utterly exhausted. I don’t feel like I have the flu or any cold symptoms though - it’s just these chills and fatigue! (And then once I get a blanket or a jumper I then feel too hot!).

Is this a peri symptom or am I going mad?

In the last year I have also started to feel anxious/ sort of have chest palpitations now and again. Not based on any real anxieties so I put down to peri menopause. I went to the docs about the anxiety and they did blood tests and said all levels were normal.

Anyone else?

Flu feelings before period, I was getting that in perimenopause, don't know as I think I'm pretty much through it.

But yes, there was times when I just had to go to bed like I had the flu, just drained. Then I'd have a period (mine were all over the place) and start to feel better.

I think it's fairly common.

Thank you @BarrelOfOtters yes that’s exactly what I feel like, I just want to curl up and sleep! My period feels heavier than usual too. Fingers crossed it eases after my period finishes. I find the anxiety very much comes and goes so hopefully this will, it’s awful!

I have chills the way other people have hot flashes as part of my peri symptoms. They’re under control now with HRT but I find I need to sleep in warm pjs (and I was always a hot sleeper before this) and pre-warm the bed with a hot water bottle. Basically my thermostat is wonky, but in a different direction than most people.
