I am loosing the plot here in NI!
I had Kidney stones the week before last. I couldn't get to see my GP so endowed up in A&E for 25 hours where the urologist told me the supplements I was taking for Peri were likely what caused the stones.

I was taking Magnesium and Vits D3 & k2 and a bit B complex.

I'm off them a week and I feel like I'm loosing my mind. I can't sit down or I'll fall asleep. I'm sweating profusely. Dry mouth. Aches and pains. A temper like I've never experienced and I hate everyone who looks at me.

I can't get to see my GP. Despite calling everyday since last Wednesday. This is now typical
Of our surgery.

Are there private Peri menopause clinics in NI?
Thanks x

It's true that taking large doses of any supplements, but especially magnesium or calcium, can cause kidney stones.

The other supplements like B vits and Vit D don't cause kidney stones. You should have been told more specifically what to stop.

If you can't take magnesium as a supplement, you can still get it through food, and it will be digested more safely than as a tablet/supplement.
Lots of info online about good sources.

TBH if you are suffering from sweats, flushes and the rest, maybe hrt is the best way forward?

Could you afford a private GP appt?

@JinglingSpringbells yes I can afford to go private but how do I find a reputable service. I don't want to go to a. General practice privately if they have a limited menopause knowledge.
