Pre payment certificate for HRT…. “ service unavailable “ anyone else found this problem?

Hello, I purchased a HRT PPC from our local pharmacy a year ago but it is about to run out of date and I’d like to renew it. I’ve tried for over a week online and it says the service isn’t available.
I’ve been into 2 different Boots pharmacies and they say it’s all online now and they can’t do it in store.
so, I’m stuck…any advice please?
thanks

It is available to me online at the moment - so have you checked very recently.

I bought mine on Friday with no issues. Are you using the correct website www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/help-nhs-prescription-costs/nhs-hormone-replacement-therapy-prescription-prepayment-certificate-hrt-ppc

Yes, tried every day for a week. Tried just now and used the link you sent. Husband tried last night on his laptop and the same “ service isn’t available “
l also manually put my address in ,in case this was the issue.
Are you in England? Maybe ,that’s the issue?

My current PPC doesn’t expire till 4th of May so maybe it’s waiting till then and then l can buy one. But, I was sent an email to say it would expire on the 4th and a website link, as Bexi sent to re purchase. This has been the link I’ve used but not working. Although l have tried Bexis link and still ‘ not available,’

That link works fine for me. Try clearing your cache and have another go - it sounds like a issue with your device.

Just run the website call site and they are having issues. They cannot take card payments ,so until this is resolved, you cannot buy a PPC online. Hopefully it will be resolved in a few days.
thanks for your replies on here, xxx

Hi, just wondering if you even got this issue resolved? I'm having
the same problem.
Thanks

Artyfarty555 · 04/06/2024 23:00

Hi Nikki, it’s never been fully resolved tbh. I tried with the same postcode but put an additional e on my surname and it went ahead under the advice of a friend who lives on the same street . But, l cancelled as my name is different on the prescription ( without a e!)Does this make sense?
so, if l spell my surname incorrectly it allows it but all my NHS correspondence has the correct spelling of my surname!! And it’s not a tricky surname!! So, l don’t want to do that!
I’ve just tried and it says the service is temporarily unavailable. ( with correct spelling of name!) With incorrect spelling it works!
so, I’m going to buy one from a local pharmacy which apparently do them in the shop.
Hope you have better luck x
