Hi all

I have the mirena coil and 0.5mg Sandrena a day - it’s been a year.

My periods slowed down in the first few months of the coil, but are now back to heavy and long. My symptoms overall are worsening too - lack of sleep, brain fog, low mood and aching. Oh the aches! Sooooo painful. Hips, knees. Feel absolutely awful and like I’m barely surviving the days. Get up - work, eat, sleep (badly) repeat. I have an appointment booked with GP to review prescription and symptoms but the earliest apt I could get is 6 weeks away.

do you think doubling the Sandrena (so 1mg per day) might help?
Is it worth trying this or just being patient and waiting for the GP apt.

I feel awful day in, day out at the moment. So hard. Any other tips?

thanks all

I would. I started on 0.5 and upped it after 4 months as symptoms came back.

I've been on HRT about 1.5 years and increased as needed and am now on 1.5. If you do just need more, you should feel the benefit in a couple of days. You can always drop back down again if it doesn't suit. I can't comment on the bleeding as I'm on an oral progesterone and apart from the odd light break though bleed, I've been fine.
