I'm 43 and haven't had a period since August 2020, although did have a miscarriage shortly after that. I was investigated in 2021 for early menopause and instead diagnosed with PCOS. No treatment given. Pressed my GP again this year and have had two pelvic scans and blood test put my fsh at 37.4. Just waiting for a follow up result but i expect to be put on HRT asap. Frustratingly I think it has been menopause all along.
In the last two years I've suffered with anxiety and low mood. A course of sertraline really helped me feel normal again so i came off it because it really detrimentally affected my sleep but it is creeping back in and I really feel my lust for life and purpose has gone. I feel blue, bored and without direction. I'm lucky enough to have a lovely husband, a wonderful 5 year old and a good life really but a lot of the time I feel quite what can be best described as empty and numb.
Basically what I'm asking is, are these normal feelings with menopause and can I expect HRT to help with this at all? TIA
