Can’t get Ovestin or 0.10% Estriol

Can anyone help with advice.
I can no longer get Ovestin & my chemist can only supply lower dose Estriol (& they’ve said this issue is on going with most chemists) which I would have to use daily as opposed to twice weekly when I used Ovestin.
I’ve now got to go back to my Dr to request a new prescription for the lower dose - it’s that or nothing!!!!
I don’t want to have to use cream daily - what I was on was working well following horrendous issues with UTIs & bleeding & bladder scan to show it was menopause & VA. Also the new lower dose daily would not add up to the same amount of active ingredients I previously used with Ovestin twice a week.
Can anyone offer advice what I can ask GP for??

I just got my prescription. It’s called Estriol 1mg/1g cream. Same dosage as Ovestin. Same company. Same packaging. Apparently the patent on the name has run out so can’t use it.

Can I ask whereabouts in England you are @greengreyblue? My local chemists cannot get this strength in stock and I’m in North Staffs.

Midlands.

I work in a pharmacy and have had trouble finding stock the last few weeks BUT received some yesterday so I think it is trickling back into the supply chain.

This is what I get every month, no issues with supply at all. Norfolk.

Can I ask which Chemist you used @greengreyblue as I’m going to ring round and see if I can find a chemist that may have some supplies.
My Drs have now prescribed me pessaries which I’m not keen on.

@greengreyblue Hi. We were discussing Ovestin/estriol on another thread. Think my username was different on that. Glad you’re finding the estriol is working. Picked mine up today. Yep, it’s exactly the same as Ovestin just the name has changed. Phew x
