Zero fucks at 40

Did anyone hit 40 then all the fucks they handed out like confetti suddenly stopped and they no longer gave a fuck about anything?

That's how I feel. Nothing matters anymore . Hate me. I can do without you. Can't be bothered with a conversation, I'll go on my phone. Teenagers don't finish their food.. starve if they want. I feel like I've had a personality transplant 😆

Yeah! I'm 40 and in the last couple years I've given up all fucks.

Especially around my appearance, and the opinions of men.

I've quit wearing a bra, and pretty much live in dungarees and T-shirts these days. DH often reminisces about how I used to wear nice dresses and make up. Fuck that, who was I doing it for? We're both middle aged and chubby now mate.

Well I give zero fucks about superficial things, looks, clothes blar blar blar, but I always have. Unfortunately the anxiety, overthinking and general peri brain has well and truly taken over.

This may be the most pleasing thing I've read on the Internet today, permission to use your fabulous turn of phrase please?

Run outta fucks?! I am early 50s @ThisCyanOtter and although I do still worry and stress about shit some times, and do worry if I have upset someone now and again - I give way less fucks than I used to.

My mother (died late noughties not long after dad,) used to always tell me I should #bekind and help people and do things for people, even if they treat me like the dogshit they just scraped off their shoe. 'Be the bigger person' she would crow. (Why is the onus to be the bigger person always put on the one who is being wronged/treated like shit? Does my head in. )

Anyway, I was raised to always be nice/be kind, and subsequently let people use me and walk all over me. But I began to stop allowing it to happen by my mid 40s. I have blips every now and then, but I would say I am about 85% outta fucks! 😆

@ThisCyanOtter I turned 40 a cpl months ago and it's like a switch flipped. No more fs at all. Is it a stage of perimenopause? Midlife crisis? Which by the way I'm really interested in. Where do I sign up for a midlife crisis? I'd like to have one of those.
