Surprise period on holiday

I've been taking HRT (oestrogel 3 pumps and 2 uterogestan daily for 12 days) since August and after some initial irregular bleeding I just started to have a period approx 5-7 days in to the uterogestan and this would stop when I stopped taking it or just before. I am on holiday in India (not sure if jet lag, heat is relevant) and since the second day here I've been having an unexpected, very heavy period. Is there anything I can do to stop it? Does anyone know why it's happening? It's really starting to impact the holiday - making me even more tired, irritable with the family, worrying about flooding, not swimming. I wondered if increasing my oestrogen would help? I can't seem to google the right things to get the right answers x

This is not how it usually works.

The normal cycle on any sequential hrt is to have a withdrawal bleed 2 to 3 days after you stop progesterone. This mimics a natural cycle, where periods start when progesterone falls.

So estrogen every day, and then Utrogestan for 12 days (ideally start half way through your own natural cycle if they are regular. But if not, on the same day every month - ie the 1st - and sticking to that date.)

It sounds as if HRT has never reset your own cycle.

You can't stop the bleed now.

You might be better using 14 days too, as you're on 3 pumps of gel which is considered a higher dose.

Yes, you can get something called noriesterone it’s called Primolut in India. It’s meant for delaying your period, but will stop it too.

I don't think it will.

Norethisterone is a progestogen (like Utrogestan but synthetic.)

It's probably not going to work now it's used to delay a period.

If it's already a few days in, doubt it would work.
