Perineum thinning and tight

I’m on HRT Evorel 100 (have just increased from 75) and Utrogestan.

The vulval discomfort the last few weeks has increased lots and as I am very familiar with my anatomy I can feel and see that the skin on my perineum has shrunk (especially around my episiotomy scar), it feels tight and is thinning.

As with many others, getting a GP appointment is almost impossible but I know if I simply put in a request for Estriol it will be issued.

Has anyone suffered this and found it improved? I dare not have sex as I am certain I will tear.

Get yourself down Boots this morning and get some Gina over the counter. Its vaginal oestrogen, but it will help your vulva/perineum too. I honestly can't tell you the difference its made to me, and I would have said my vulva wasn't that bad

@CMOTDibbler oh I shall look into that!

Ovestin cream. It’s like a miracle in a tube. Ask GP or buy online for about £25 x

Oh interesting please can someone tell me the benefits of these creams please ? Trying to learn more … idiots guide please

queenrollo · 30/03/2024 10:34

The pharmacist won’t sell me Gina OTC because I am under 50 and only peri not post menopause.
Have been told I will need to go through my GP

Your GP won't even blink if you ask for this when you are already on HRT.

I get 4 tubes per prescription as I need to use it so much.

Updating this because my GP has refused to give me a prescription for vaginal oestrogen and requested a face to face appointment. That is in three weeks, so I am still suffering.

I looked it up before but it’s £50 a tube to buy privately and I can’t really afford that right now.

My GP prescribed it. £20 gets you a year’s worth of prescriptions

The HRT prepay certificate is a life saver.

I've got Estradiol pessaries and they've made the world of difference in stopping UTI like pain and itching.
