Pins & needles is this normal?

I am perimenopausal and for the last few weeks or so I keep getting pins & needles in my right hand. I often seem to end up
asleep with my hand under my pillow for a good while then I wake up as my hand is numb. It clears once I’ve moved my hand around properly but sometimes during the day I suddenly feel it coming back slightly even when my hand is active. Is this just a normal symptom?

Sounds like carpal tunnel. I had that after I gave birth.

GP told me to lay my wrist and hand flat, it's more effective than hanging it down.

I have it when I swim sometimes and lay my hand down flat on the side of the pool for a few secs.

RSI- repetitive strain.

Usually caused by using a keyboard too often.

You can buy wrist supports for when you're working on the pc.

I get this. Dr said carpal tunnel is the thumb and index finger side of hand. My pins & needles are more in the outer 3 fingers. He said it's not that worrying. But he said the same about my palpitations 🙄

Could be carpal tunnel . Could also be the neck if your head is turned or flexed to the same side when sleeping ? Do you have any neck pain ? Carpal tunnel mainly affects the thumb and index finger so if it's the whole hand could be something different but not necessarily

I had a trapped nerve in my elbow which did this. Had surgery to put it right. Now I have carpal tunnel. I would ask for a referral for further investigations.

No I haven’t had any neck pain at all. I thought it had actually gone the other day but now it’s come back again. My arm does feel like I’ve pulled something in it as sometimes it’s painful.

My GP surgery are useless so no point going to them.

It could be paraesthesia brought on by fluctuating oestrogen levels. I've had this too.

@OnHerSolidFoundations wow they dismissed your palpitations? I hope it's nothing too serious. Did your numbness end up being related to the palpitations? I also get both x
