So far no bleed after norithisterone- is this normal?

I had been using utrogestan and patches for years. On everol 100. I hated the utro so was allowed to change to norithisterone which suits me better. Not perfect, but better.
Before the end of the course it felt like the usual period going to happen soon but apart from a bit of brown staining on Sunday there has been nothing. It feels like I am about to bleed and so wish I would. I am bloated and have pre menstrual aches .
Is this normal? Last month I bleed within 2 days of stopping.

I was on it grow e a day for 18 months as had adenomyosis. I took it until I had a hysterectomy and didn't have a period in all that time. That was the plan!

However if I didn't take it 12 hours apart once I'd been on it a few months I did start to cramp and spot bleed.

The only thing I'd warn you of is it can cause extremely low moods. It did settle for me but I didn't struggle at first.

Thanks. I am taking it sequentially. The gp wants me to move to conti but tbh nortithisterione is the best of a bad bunch and the thought of having to take it everyday is very scary.
I got hideous womb pain and huge cystic spots on utrogestan. The spots were there even when I was not taking it The mirena was disaster with endless bleeding an pain bad enough that i was offered codeine.
I can get to over a week on nortithsterione before the pain starts and the acne has stopped. I feel like I am having a period but there is no bleeding.🤔

I believe you still ovulate on northisterone. I believe that's why as a pill it doesn't prevent pregnancy. (Google should confirm my beliefs?!) I still had what felt like cycles and period cramps. But I had no bleed. I too, it because I couldn't bleed because it was just too horrendous.

It worked for me for what it was intended to do but it does sound as if it's not solving things for you as intended and hope you find something suitable

Google actually informs me I'm wrong and it can be used to prevent pregnancy and ovulation.

Probably.

What dose is it? How many mgs and how many days a month?

It's very strong compared to Utrogestan so your lining may be thin even using it.

I am taking 2.5 mg ( half a tablet) for 12-14 days each month.

It could be that you are nearing the time when you stop having periods naturally i.e. menopause. I've been on sequi HRT for a while and withdrawal bleeds have almost stopped. GP advised a move to continuous HRT. Check with your own GP, but I think it is what is meant to happen.

@Biomic withdrawal bleeds happen as long as anyone uses sequential. I'm 15 years post meno and still have them on sequi HRT (as does a friend who is 70.)

If you're not having a bleed it might be advisable to reassess your HRT as this can happen with too little estrogen and too much progesterone ( as a ratio.)

Why are you having to halve a tablet?
That's a bit odd.

It's years since I took it, but it was either a 1mgs tablet or 5mgs.

The gp showed me disease advice from the menopause society. For my strength of patch I can get away with 2.5 mg tablet. This is preferable. If I go to continue disease will halve again, but the drugs are not available still.
