Such painful periods

Really struggling, I’ll be 54 in June and have had enough. Have had painful periods for a couple of years. I’ve spent the whole weekend alternating ibuprofen and paracetamol, which has only taken the edge off the pain, and feel so wiped out. I’ve been on cyclical HRT for 3 months which has had no impact on my periods, either positive or negative.

Can anyone help or suggest anything please? Just desperate for my periods to stop…

Have you been to GP for investigations, into fibroids etc? Tried tranexamic acid to reduce bleeding? Other painkillers, eg naproxen?

Sorry to hear. If you're financially able to I would go see a private Gynae and she'll recommend a vaginal scan to see what's going on. It may be fibroids causing this but really best to go to the Gynaecologist.
