I'm going to ask if there's anything via Gp but I just wondered if there are any online sources or books that are specifically for perimenopause issues.

Cant take hrt so don't suggest please! (And I was on it and still had symptoms!)

I don't think there are any books using CBT aimed at peri menopause.

What symptoms do you think CBT would help you with?
Most CBT books (like CBT for Dummies, or Mind over Mood) cover anxiety, confidence, phobias, etc.

A registered practitioner should be able to adapt CBT to your needs.

Don't know about CBT specifically, but you could try Perimenopause Power by Maisie Hill. I haven't read that one but her other book Period Power is excellent and was life changing for me. She does holistic and alternative medicine so i would imagine perfect if you're avoiding HRT.

Sleep, hot flushes etc.

I'm going off reported evidence that it's supportive but perhaps it needs to be a face to face course?

@WarriorN If you can't take HRT because of breast cancer, your GP should refer you to a specialist .There are lots of drugs that can be used as alternatives. Like some BP meds, some ADs and other drugs. There is also a new drug which came out a couple of months back - non hormonal- for hot flushes. Sorry I can't tell you the name but if you google, it's there.

Thanks, I know about that, but via some cancer / menopause pod casts cbt has been mentioned a lot. There seems to have been some trials too. Just wondering what's out there self help wise before I move onto Gp.

I looked into that drug but I'm not convinced about the side effects. On paper sounds amazing. It would also be prescribed off label.
