Longer cycles after stopping HRT + cramping

Having tried a couple of different types of HRT - most recently evoril sequi patches - I’ve decided to stop as the side effects though not awful were as troublesome as my symptoms (also not that awful). On balance, I decided that for now HRT wasn’t something worth doing.

Since stopping the patches, my cycles have got much longer. This one is 47 days and counting. Before HRT, when pausing HRT and when on my first regime of HRT, my cycles alternated between 18 days and 23 days. The patches equalised and regulated them - my first lot didn't. Also I am getting light cramping fairly often particularly on my right hand side which feels like I’m about to come on but I don’t.

Does anyone have any thoughts/experiences on whether it is possible that the patches have had a lingering effect on my cycles? Also, anyone offer any experience of what it’s like when your cycles lengthen/stop? Is the cramping normal? I keep feeling hormonal and about to come on but don’t.

For context, because my first lot of HRT didn’t regulate my bleeding I had the full investigation into whether it was cancer. It was classed as irregular despite having a clear pattern. I'm 51.

I don’t have advice, just sympathy as your cycles and continuous cramps/pms feeling is exactly what I experience every day, and each month. I have just been prescribed Evorel Sequi, but haven’t yet started using. I am the same age as you, so I guess these symptoms could have happened to you even if like me, you had never started HRT.

Was going to reply then noticed this is almost 2 months old.

I wonder if @vapourtrail50 found an answer?
