HRT and weight if starting post menopause

Hi, I’m about 3 -4yrs post menopause and considering HRT but worried about any further weight gain. I put on a huge amount of weight in the last 4-5yrs which I seem unable to lose. Read massively conflicting accounts of weight gain vs weight loss. Interested to hear experiences where HRT has been started after menopause when the weight gain has already happened? Thanks a lot

I’ve not put any weight on, but I do think you need to eat less at this age, although I’ve yet to do that!

I put on weight when I took HRT (and I was already putting on weight) - bioidentical hormones from the Louise Newson clinic so supposedly the best for the body. I just felt puffed up with oestrogen, my breasts swelled and they were already big, and my stomach got more squishy with stored fat.

I came off it and am dealing with the menopause in other ways. Feel much better for it.
