Hi badgerbollocks. I was looking for something else and saw this post from sometime ago. Be very careful with the skin condition you may have. It may be worth a referral to a dermatologist
I started off with patches over my body which I thought were bruising or pigmentation.and was told after 12 months of the bruising spreading quite significantly, that I had an auto immune condition called morpheaScleroderma. This condition although it’s quite rare, they think it is based on over production of collagen. Unfortunately, I was fobbed off by the medical practitioners, for so long that part of my leg, breast stomach first of all, turned a very dark black/bruised colour and will never recover . I started to burn heavily in the Sun with this as well and it may be therefore worthwhile you checking this out and asking for a referral to dermatology just in case. The areas on my face initially looked pigmented but it soon worsened.
My doctor kept saying it was stretchmarks or just a bruise and it was only when I saw a Locum doctor, who he said he wasn’t happy with it after 18 months that I was referred elsewhere.
I’m now on Methotrexate which is awful, so just in case it is something more serious, I would suggest getting it checked out by a dermatologist as none one of the gps I saw even knew what it was, just in case. I now can’t use anything collagen based, and my consultants are trying to balance the HRT. I’ve just started with the other drugs I’m taking, as the HRT produces oestrogen, which intern produces collagen. A viscous cycle
just be cautious with collagen as it isn’t all it says on the tin. For some it could be a hindrance.
