Dry skin on face

I'm now 51 and have had only one period in the last 3 years. My symptoms are fairly manageable - hot flushes, poor sleep etc, but I have a really dry face. A beautician suggested I don't need a serum, I need estrogen. Taking HRT for dry skin seems excessive. Is there anything else I can do? Would it be worth going on HRT for what is essentially vanity?

I get dry patches unless I use Beauty Pie Plantastic cleansing balm or the Clinique equivalent, whatever it’s called. I layer up moisturisers etc after and that helps, but the big differentiator is the Plantastic.

My skin has got noticeably dryer in my fifties. I slap on Nivea Night Cream a couple of times a day. It's brilliant.

@Groovee this one?
@JinglingSpringbells I think I'm good for all of those.
@theduchessofspork yes I probably do need to see a dermatologist.

Sorry for the late reply. I use these ones.

I've started using tretinoin recently and it's drying my skin out. It was peeling and flaky every morning. I've started using my DDs child's farm moisturising cream the last few days and it's sorted my skin right out.

@geoger I've bought those and have started using them today. I'll report back.

Soap I have done but usually I use the Ordinary squalane cleanser or olive oil. As a cleanser coconut oil gave me blackheads.

Please let me know how you get on with it.
its such an easy pared down routine and I use the same products on my body too

@geoger it's going well so far thanks. One question: do you use a separate product to remove make-up, if you wear it? I don't usually wear foundation, but when I do the Dermol 500 doesn't remove it all.

Sorry I don’t really wear make up. I threw out all my make up when I developed the patches of eczema on my face
