Anyone been ok on second 2 weeks of Evorel Sequi?

Hi all,
I had PND 13 years ago, and have had a couple of small relapses since. Then last Dec awful anxiety appeared out of nowhere, no trigger. Since then, it’s debilitating ( can’t leave the house) then clears within about a week. I realised that these episodes seem to sync with my periods - I’m not an anxious person at all so it’s really odd. Anyway, Ive started on HRT after a lot of reading and speaking with GP. I’m on Evorel Sequi, but have scared myself silly reading posts about people who have reacted really badly to the second two weeks ( conti). Lots of people say they have low mood which scares me as that’s what I struggle with most- but can’t see many posts of people who seem fine on the 2nd two weeks!
Is anyone out there? xx

I’m about to start it - eek!

Bubble54 · 01/03/2024 19:55

I've just finished my first 4 weeks of HRT (same brand) and I can definitely see that the last 2 weeks weren't as good as the first two - nothing awful, just not as good as. Possibly due to my period happening in that time as well?? I'll be interested to see what happens this month. Hopefully you'll be fine ❤️

I’m a bit scared 😱

inthewoods4 · 01/03/2024 19:57

Thanks! I can handle not as good, I’ve been so low anything would be better 🤞🏻

I definitely found this for the first 2 or 3 months - low mood, sinus pain, migraine all in week 3. I’ve now been on it for 7 months and I feel fine. Actually I feel weirdly cheerful quite a lot of the time.

LittleMy77 · 01/03/2024 22:46

I’ve been on it for 6 months and find it fine. I was on progesterone tablets before and they were awful

If you have side effects you can stop using them - our nurse will happily review and tweak methods if it’s not working

Thank you, that makes me feel better, I’ve convinced myself that I’m going to feel really depressed on them and it’s making me really nervous!

im on it and the first lot of the conti patches I felt like it didn’t quite agree with me and I was very bloated, but am now fine - I’ve been on it about six months. I haven’t had any anxiety or low mood, and I have a history of severe depression and anxiety. I think it is sensible to take a multivitamin/mineral designed for menopausal women but obviously I don’t have any proof that it makes any difference! I feel very well though and hope it works well for you.

Frostynight · 02/03/2024 20:21

I noticed the difference for the first two to three months. Felt like pmt, headaches, bloating etc.

I can't tell the difference at all now. I still get periods, and feel a bit of a tummy ache beforehand, but that's honestly all.

BedRot · 05/03/2024 23:36

I have no insight but am another one about to try the Conti phase for the first time tomorrow and feeling trepidation for the same reasons. Am with you in solidarity!

Now a few days into Conti and absolutely fine! So far a positive experience overall with Everol Sequi.

chosenone · 10/03/2024 08:14

I think maybe the first couple of months, but nothing really noticeable. Felt a bit irritable but just normal PMT feeling and only a day or two before my period. I’ve been on it 9 months now and very happy with it 👍 good luck and give it time but definitely seek reassurance from your GP if concerned.

TomaytoTomaato · 10/03/2024 08:42

I struggled for the first 6 months with not feeling great on the 2nd half.
It's now evened out, although I do definitely still have more of a pep in my step when on the oestrogen patches.

siblingrevelryagain · 10/03/2024 09:11

I used to do the sequential Evorel and found I dropped off a cliff for the conti two weeks; I don’t know if it was because it was progesterone only or no oestrogen. A couple of years ago I swapped to oral Utrogestan and Evorel oestrogen patch continuously and it really made a difference.

the first few days I hadn’t realised it has a mild sedative action and took it in the morning, so couldn’t understand why I felt more tired! It is useful for some people if they struggle to sleep

Pleasegivemeyourwisdom · 10/03/2024 18:26

I’m being an idiot but when my period comes, after the 2 week conti patches, do I have a wee break in the patches?

No! Just keep on going

inthewoods4 · 22/03/2024 10:26

I’ve just finished my first month on Sequi, and all has been good. Only two days ago woke with awful anxiety and got my period today. That explains the anxiety, but I’m wondering if this will ease over the next few months as the HRT starts to properly work? x

Hi all, I know this thread is old but I've just started on Evorel Sequi, and the Conti patch contains the same amount of oestrogen as the 50 patch plus progesterone. No need to feel panicky about switching between the two if you feel good about taking oestrogen. 😊
