Lump in breast

Hi , I found a lump just above my my nipple last week there’s was also redness around the area
I’ve been to the Dr & a referral has been done to the 2 week pathway
I’m absolutely terrified, the redness has cleared up , I know that each case is different but has anyone else had these symptoms ?

Yes it was a blocked duct from a bad case of mastitis 20 years earlier. Calcification I think they called it. Mine got infected twice so I needed horrid antibiotics.

Thankyou for your reply , I haven’t had mastitis but the rash freaked me out , when I felt the lump it scared me .
Waiting for the breast clinic appointment is torture , I can’t sleep with the worry

I know it's scary but try to keep calm. I've been referred to the breast clinic 5 or 6 times now. Each time it's been a benign cyst. Yours may or may not be benign but you're doing the right thing getting it checked out. Fingers crossed it's a good outcome for you.

It's scary but the vast majority of lumps are harmless. I've found peri has made my breast tissue lumpier around my period - I have been referred to get it checked.
I would have thought redness that has gone would be a good sign. Hopefully you will get some reassurance soon.

Thankyou for your replies , my appointment was today & I had a thorough examination & scan
I’ve got cysts in my right breast which she said could be caused by hrt the lump has gone but was probably a blocked duct
Im so relieved 😌

Thankyou Beamur, I didn’t sleep a wink the night before with worry I’m so glad that I got checked .
Now that she mentioned HRT causing cysts it’s got my mind going , apparently women going through menopause can experience changes in their breasts anyway without HRT .

If it helps, I've had many breast cysts. Most were before HRT. A couple since HRT. So I don't think it's as straightforward as HRT causing the cysts.

Thankyou for your reply , I agree but some Dr’s are quick to say cause are because of HRT
I’ve only got cysts in one breast , I have read that menopausal women do get breast cysts
