Heart palpitations

For a few weeks now I've been having heart palpitations. I only notice them when I sit still or lie down. It's like an extra beat. I've made an appointment with gp for next week but I'm a bit worried. I'm sure the anxiety is increasing them. I also have very dry skin under and on my eyelids that I never had before.
My blood pressure was fine 2 months ago and my watch is saying bpm is OK although probably not that accurate.
I'm just wondering could this be a perimenopause symptoms? I'm 43 and anyway I can stop or decrease them

I got my thyroid checked bloods and asked for antibodies test, was also having heart flutters but can also be menopause related. I would get a doctors appointment and explain your symtoms and hope you get it sorted soon.

I've had heart palpitations off and on for years and a number of checks have ruled out any heart issues.

The first time they were very acute it turned out to be an overactive thyroid.

More recently I noticed an increase during perimenopause, before starting HRT. They've settled down mostly now and I am only noticing them very occasionally. As it happens I also have dry skin around my eyes which flares up too - possibly unrelated or possibly just another peri symptom, who knows?!

Probably worth getting the palpitations checked out if they're noticeable and/or increasing.

To Silkechick get your thyroid checked again as eye issues and dry skin sign of thyroid issues. So many things seem like peri-meno but can be thyroid. Hope everyone gets sorted as not easy this menopause time of our lives.

Yep this was all checked at the time as I have thyroid history. Results all in normal limits (including hormones 🙄) and since it's all settled down with HRT I'm assuming it was linked with that this time. Still get the occasional thump but nothing out of the ordinary.
