Very strong PMS symptons but no period?

I'm 48. Have PCOS, but since children, periods range from 25 to 30 days. Period is now a week late (not prgenant). I know this is to be expected now, but I have never felt so certain that period will come as symptoms going on for days now. Will it come, or do symptoms eventually just fade?

Excuse my ignorance, but this is the first time this has happened. It's unsettlibg as away on holiday next week and was hoping symotons and period would be out the way!

I suppose I thought you would just begin to miss periods, rather than have the symptons and no period...?

I am in peri and I find my PMT lasts a lot longer than it used to. My periods are irregular but not terrible but I tend to get a light and short period and almost immediately after it ends I get PMT until the next period, so around 3 weeks. It is exhausting and very annoying 😣

Thank you - I haven't really had any peri symptoms, so I haven't sure.

Is there anything I can do? Can't believe my ignorance!

I'm actually trying to understand the same thing! I have been on the minipill for 8 years, and since I stopped the pill in August my periods have ranged between 32 and 34 days. Now I am on day 37, negative pregnancy test, light cramps for a few days and PMS... I also have PCOS!

Interesting! Sorry your suffering too!

This was one of my peri symptoms, HRT has sorted it out x

Just checking because these things do happen - are you sure you’re not pregnant?

Yoyoyo1 · 04/02/2024 22:20

Definitely not pregnant.
