Menopause or a cold?

Afternoon, I hope someone can help.

I officially hit menopause almost 5 years ago, and had only mild problems with hot flushes (I was already on an antidepressants that helped, plus I was eventually prescribed Tibolone, which seemed to be sufficient).

I'm now on day 15 of a stinking cold, and the last 4 or 5 days I've had more problems with either hot flushes or temperature induced sweats.

My temperature has been a little raised, up to 37.5, but is now back to normal.

My question - could a cold develop into sweats at the end of its lifespan, or, could I develop full on hot flushes 5 years down the line? I just can't work it out, and I need some sleep!

TIA

I’d say one of the many viruses going round at the moment, incl Covid.
I started getting night sweats after my second bout of Covid (even though it was mild on any count)

Thanks BlueSky, I haven't tested for Covid, because I have no tests left! but I was hoping it was a virus. Just seems so weird that I'm heading towards the end of the bug!
