No periods since 3 months - thinning hair

I’m 43. My periods were like clockwork (27 days) until last year where I had 45 day cycles twice. Regular for the rest of the time.
For the last few months, I lost a lot of hair. On the head, eyebrows and eyelashes. Thinned down everywhere. Rest of the body I don’t know as I use Philips lumea.
i didn’t have periods for 3 months. There are no other symptoms (apart from thinning hair), I feel well in myself, mental health ok. I don’t know what’s going on. I made an appointment with my GP.

Wondering if I menopause’s already?

I’ve no answers op, but I’m the same age as you and have noticed hair loss in the last 6 months or so. It makes me so sad and I’m taking every supplement known to woman to try to combat it. I’m thinking it’s hormonal and the menopause is just around the corner. So just wanted to say you are not alone.

Make sure GP tests your thyroid though it might be very basic TSH test. Ideally you need T4, T3 levels as well. I think reverse T3 is the other test but not often done on NHS. Blue Horizon is one reputable lab who do private tests ( there are others).

Yes get a blood test. All my symptoms that my doctor dismissed as ‘oh it’s your age’ was actually my thyroid deciding it couldn’t be arsed anymore and my vitamin D levels becoming almost non existent.

also it dawned upon me just now that my smear test is long overdue. I hope this isn’t something sinister
