itchy scalp and hair loss

Hair has been shedding for about 6 months, bloods done at GP and all fine. Already taking biotin and Vit D (and HRT patches). Scalp is itchy and after a lot of reading I think this is the issue as the hair is shedding all over rather than in patches or receding.

Can anyone recommend shampoos or other products for itchy scalp without dandruff???

Hi as anyone got any suggestions on what to do next please, about six months ago my hair started falling out hair really thin now and itchy scalp no dandruff, I’ve seen Gp bloods all ok, I’m on HRT patches oestrogen only 12 years now, I’ve tried all free from shampoos, spent a fortune, I’m getting really worried.

Use shampoos that contain 60%-70% natural ingredients. Declining estrogen makes our skin more sensitive. Also apply natural coconut oil or castor oil on your hair and scalp 2 or 3 times a week. It manages and soothes dry scalp, and dandruff,

Nizoral treatment shampoo once or twice a week helps with itchy scalp. It also gets prescribed it for hair loss.

It is quite drying on hair so you'll need a good conditioner/hair mask to apply to hair and roots.

A year on, I have made peace with the thinner hair. A close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer after I first posted and lost all of her hair so me whinging about mine being a bit thinnner seems so self-absorbed.

I've found that the head and shoulders anti-fall shampoo is good (they sell it in Asda) and I've started using serum to brush it through that helps. But I think this is just going to be the way it is. I'm not sure whether it's the HRT causing the hair loss or the lack of oestrogen.

I did try this as you say awful for the hair but only soothed scalp for a couple of hours also tried the soothing lotion

I think it's a totally different matter when you find it coming out in clumps and that is definitely something you should be exploring with a GP. Good luck!
