Aching joints

I am 46 and have gone through the menopause already! I am on HRT but am getting a lot of stiff joints and aches and pains. Could this be arthritis? Has anyone else had this experience?

Could be you need to increase your hrt dose. Needing more oestrogen.

Worth checking with your GP. My GP referred me for x rays which found mild osteoarthritis but she said if you scanned the knees of everyone over 40,you'd find a high proportion with osteoarthritis but often no symptoms. It's basically really common post 40.
HRT has helped. If my estrogen levels drop, I feel the joint pain v quickly. So it might be worth checking if you need a higher dose of estrogen.
I also find the gym immensely helpful. Resistance machines are great for building muscle and improving bone density.

No HRT here but literally within weeks of periods stopping my hips an elbows ache constantly. Tried collagen and fish oil but no difference.

I have always been really flexible with no joint issue so this is a complete shock. I thought it would probably just go but 18 months later I am walking like the elderly.

This is by far my most devastating symptom off HRT (i'm in surgical menopause).
