Iud/perimenopause? Any ideas?

Am 46. Had the Mirena coil for 4 years. No periods, all good for first 2 1/2 years. Loving it. But for past 18 months or so I have very frequent, but irregular, light bleeding. Not enough to be a period but enough to need sanitary protection. Sometimes lasts a couple of hours, sometimes a couple of days but probably affects me 21+ days a month. Never know when it will start or how long it will last for. Not useful for trying to plan wardrobe/sex life...

Suspect it is due to perimenopausal hormones and stuff but general info seems to suggest Mirena coil is used to lighten periods. Opposite seems to be happening here..

Any advice/ideas/similar tales/suggestions?

TIA

I don't know, but I have exactly the same on a different coil, so watching thread. Am going to speak to doctor.

I'd check with doctor. If you weren't bleeding before and now you are it could be that the IUD has moved out of place or something.
