Heavy bleeding post menopausal

Been post menopausal for years, been on HRT for 8 years and and having v heavy bleeding for the last 5 days.

Waiting for a doctor’s appointment next week…

I changed to gel and utrogestan 4 months ago and was fine but now so much bleeding …feel anxious …anyone else had this?

A lot depends on what you used before and what now.

Are you using the right dose of Utrogestan?

Heavy bleeding often happens when the ratio of progesterone is too low for the estrogen dose.

Your GP will possibly evaluate the dose of both hormones.

You should be using 100mgs a day, or for high doses of gel ( 3 or 4 pumps) the new guidance is some women need 200mgs a day.

Hope this helps and it's possibly just a tweak of your doses that's needed.

I was on patches before and pills before that.
on 3 pumps of gel and one utrogestan pill been on this 4 months no issue but now really heavy bleeding for 5 days 😟am v worried
