Dry skin on face - any recommendations?

Since starting peri the skin on my cheeks has gotten really dry and every face cream I've tried just seems to sit on the top of my skin rather than being absorbed.
I don't want to keep buying different ones as they are not overly cheap.
Has anyone got any recommendations as to what worked for you?
Thanks so much

Very gentle exfoliation and then Cerave cream.

I had a free consultation with a skin care clinic recently and it was so helpful and informative. I learnt so much about skin care for peri-menopausal skin in the 40 minute appointment.

I've started to use a retinol, something I never really understood how/why to use before.

Thank you for replying. I will try ceraVe see if it works with my skin & have a look into retinol (although so many brands to look through!)

My suggestion would be to use an acid toner every other night e.g glyconic and layer a good serum with a moisturiser on top.

La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 baume is excellent for dry, itchy, irritated skin. It’s often recommended by dermatologists and surgeons so it’s got good credentials.

I had some irritation after using a retinal and it’s the only thing that seems to settle it down really quickly.

Avoid fragrance as it’s a know irritant.

Weleda Skin Food. It's thick and best used at night but they do a light version for day. Really nourishing. You could also consider facial oil at night. I really rate Superdrug's Vitamin E facial oil. Cheap as chips but really effective.

I started using Wild Mint cosmetics about 9 months ago due to a similar problem. They have a 5 step routine with a 60 day return guarantee. It really suits my skin and I have reordered several times and different products including eye cream, night moisturiser etc. The company are very responsive to questions and queries as well.
