Blood pressure

I thought I was post meno as I'd not had a period for a year. For the last week I've had really sore boobs and feel like I'm about to come on. No sign of bleeding yet. I had the same last year, a year gap with no period. Not sure if it was related to me being ill, I've had a chest infection for the last 6 weeks and now feel ok. I've always had low bp and been on meds for POTS for the last 10 years or so. Yesterday I went to GP for routine bloods and bp check as I've got to have these for my POTS meds. The reading was an alarming 144/90- alarming for me as I've never had high bp in my life. I'm completely sure that this is somehow related to me feeling like I'm about to start a period after a year. If I do start, I'll be back on the two week pathway for ultrasounds etc., as I've had before. I mentioned it to the nurse but she seems disinterested and asked me to do x2 recordings for 7 days to check bp. I've stopped my POTS meds.
Has anyone had any similar experiences with bp issues? I'm 57 and really had enough of this meno rubbish - been like it since I was 40! My sister had issues with high bp after meno, not sure if I'm going to be following suit....

Mine always used to be low, but has risen steeply since peri meno. I have put on weight but it rose prior to that. Definitely push them to look into whether meds for your BP would be right for you.

My blood pressure changed significantly from normal to very high. I've been doing pilates four times a week, gym and swimming since November and it's gradually moving back down.
