Upping HRT

I have been on HRT for a year and have been trying to up my dose as my symptoms are creeping back.
Before Christmas, I mentioned to my doc whilst discussing this that I was bleeding whilst on the coil. She wasn't happy about this and referred me under the two week cancer rule for a vaginal scan. One thing that needed to be checked was the thickening of my womb lining, which was normal. The doctor also has insisted I have a blood test I think to check my hormones.
It took such a long time to get HRT in the first place, am scared that the docs will not up it according to hormone levels in my blood. Am 45. Anyone have any experience of this?
