Menopause? Pissed off with periods

I used to have lovely regular periods, I'm not on any birth control and they were light and short.
In the last year suddenly I'm flooding and they are longer and heavier.
In the last 2 months it's every couple of weeks or so, I thought I was done then 48 hours later it's here again
Is this normal? I'm wearing period pants all the time just in case and can't trust a dress.

My experience is slightly different but can totally empathise!
All my life my periods have been erratic at times going months in between and when they did come always pretty predictable flow wise and not much cramping or other symptoms.
Lately they are coming like clockwork or sooner!! Every 3-4 weeks... and the cramping some months has been unbearable. Day 1or 2 it feels like I'm flooding half the time - then suddenly day 3 flow drops to virtually nothing except (sorry if TMI) this dark brown "discharge" which I've been told is just older blood.

I wish I was done with them TBH. Luckily i don't seem to have any other symptoms of menopause - no brain fog, no flushes, not too many mood swings. Only thing I've had is a Frozen Shoulder which although not conclusive is believed to be more common for peri-menopausal women.
I'm 51 and just waiting for them to stop!!

i had flooding issues due to fibroids which got treated and then things settled down again but now my cycle keeps going crazy and quite frankly I'm done with this level of uncertainty! I started HRT a year ago and since then my cycles have been 21 - 27 - 28 - 28 - 33- 36-30- 29- 30 -19 - 44 - 18. I thought the patches should keep it more regular but seemingly not. Would anyone like a womb??
