Anyone struggle when changing to continuous combined?

I’ve been on cyclical utrogestan and oestrogel some years and was having regular bleeds in the gap which were heavy ish for a day and quite painful at times but manageable and only lasted three days max in total. I did notice some ovulation type mid cycle lateral pains and bloating still each month- these were very specific to mid cycle and lasted a couple of days.

GP suggested I move to continuous combined now and so after my last bleed I started taking one utrogestan at night. I’m now day 17 and I’ve had awful bloating- I look huge and I have had a constant dull pelvic ache for four days like I would get mid cycle anyway but much worse and lasting longer. I feel really congested in my pelvis. I also have breast tenderness which I would sometimes get with my bleed but not mid cycle.

Will this all settle down? I was very happy on the cyclical regime but understand this regime is safer at my age and duration of HrT use so willing to trial but would love some positive stories that I won’t feel like this too much longer!

Why did you change if you were happy?. They do say to give any HRT changed 3 months to settle down, so hopefully it will settle down x

I was told because I’m over 50 and have been on HrT over 3 years it was safer for me to change
