Question re: HRT rollercoaster hell

Hoping someone can help answer this for me!

I’ve been on Oestrodiol gel plus Utrogestan for past 4 years. I’ve been on 4 pumps pd (which I definitely need, when I reduce I get awful night sweats) plus initially 100mg Utrogestan (one capsule) pd days 14-25 on advice of consultant as I am progesterone intolerant.

I have always had regular periods, which got much heavier with peri. Roughly 28 day cycle. Bleed would kick in couple of days after I’d stopped the Utrogestan each month.

I’ve had annual ultrasounds and uterus thickness etc all normal.

for the last 6 months though, I’ve been bleeding every month from day 19/20. A full, painful, heavy period. Less than 3 weeks each month. It’s killing me. It starts when I’m still taking the Utrogestan. I basically only now have one ‘normal’ week a month…

So for the past 4 months I tried increasing the Utrogestan dose to the normal recommended amount - 200 per day (two capsules).

But there’s no change! I’m still bleeding on a 19 day cycle… plus having much worse PDD and low mood due to the higher progesterone.

Ive made an appointment to speak to my GP but it’s weeks away.

is this it now until menopause?! It’s horrendous.

anyone experienced this and know if it’s solvable by tinkering with the HRT doses or types?

All advice very gratefully received

Also - should I be stopping the Utrogestan once the bleed starts? Or do I just carry on with it?

I forgot to also say my age - I’m 45

I cannot help you at all but didn't want to read and run.

It all sounds really unacceptable, they must be able to do something to help you. How far away is the doc app? Can you get it sooner by explaining how it's affecting your mental health and well being?

Im sure you'll get some proper helpful responses in the morning. Hope you sleep well.

Would removing your womb sort it?
