Am I taking my HRT incorrectly?

Hi

I’m after some HRT advice please. I have got a GP appointment booked but they can only book in the HRT clinic which is 4 weeks off.

I’m peri menopausal and have been prescribed patches and utrogestan tablets which I have been taking from days 1-12 of every month. However the past couple of months I haven’t got to the 1st of the month before starting my period. Do I then take the utrogestan even though I have my period?

everything went fine for the first 6 months on HRT, utrogestan days 1-12 then would have my period. Not quite sure what’s going on now? Any advice welcome!

Yes, take the progesterone, you need it.

That can happen as you still will have your own cycle / hormones affecting your bleed.

Advice now is to take Utrogestan for 14 days.

Continue to take as normal & discuss at your appointment.
