What can I take?

I've had to come off HRT permanently, as I've developed secondary breast cancer, following a primary diagnosis 14 years ago, I'm devastated.

My anxiety is off the scale, brain fog, jitters, sleeplessness etc.

Next week, I start anti hormonal treatment and I'm terrified.

I've got a phone appointment with GP next week, to extend my fit note ( just had hysterectomy due to a bloody cancer in the womb also !)

What can I ask for?

Life seems unbelievably grim right now.

Hi I’m so sorry to hear that. Is there maybe some supplements you ca take to help?

Enigma52 · 30/12/2023 19:07

Thanks.
Yes maybe there's something I can take safely. Will check with the medics.

So sorry to hear about this, good luck with the treatment.

I was prescribed mirtazipine when I first went to the GP which really helped with insomnia probably better than HRT.

hope there’s something you can take.

@Redcrayons Thanks. I have tried mirtazapine in the past for insomnia and it wasn't bad. Slightly constipating as I recall and gave me a dry mouth.

I think what I will do, is give these new drugs I'm starting, a while to kick in and then see what is available for menopause. Otherwise I could get in a fix with with side effects and not knowing what is causing what.

Oh why me! 😢
