Propanalol

Hello

I'm climbing the walls with anxiety/nervousness/impending sense of doom feelings. It's breaking me. I started HRT 3 weeks ago which has started to help some of my peri symptoms (hot flushes) but I understand it may take a few months to fully return me to the human I was.

The GP has just prescribed me 20 mg propanalol to be taken up to 3 times daily. It's definitely helping. My heart rate and BP were through the roof and that seems to be settling. I'm checking that at home. I'm terrified to tell the GP how high my BP has been as I think they'll take the HRT off me! My BP has been high prior to starting due to the anxiety, I don't think it's risen due to HRT. My heart rate thumps along when I'm feeling anxious and I feel in that permanent fight or flight mode.

Anyone else requiring propanalol? Am I going to be in this forever now? Is it something I'll end up withdrawing from when I stop?? I've only been taking 20 mg in the morning, the first day I took a dose later in the day and I couldn't sleep for ages.

I gave up on HRT after one cycle. The Oestrogel made me feel very anxious which was new to me. My eyesight became blurry and I felt a short of breath.
I was told by people on here and Facebook forums to give it 3 months but I honestly felt something really wasn’t right. I took my blood pressure on a at home monitor and it was quite elevated.

Not sure why the Oestrogel would have this effect (even with just 1 pump) but it did and since over stopped I feel back to normal. It’s a shame as it fairly ruined Christmas as I was either anxious or exhausted and ‘withdrawing’ from the dose by late afternoon

Hmm, I went onto HRT primarily due to anxiety in the first place. I feel like it improved at the start but has escalated over Christmas with the usual stresses.
Also - my eyesight was becoming blurry! Pre HRT I may add. That's actually a bit better.
