Perimenopause anxiety - aargh!

I’m 52 and have been feeling really weird for over a year now - palpitations, breathless, a bit lightheaded and “fizzy”, tight throat,
sense of impending doom, night sweats - which has made me very anxious. After loads of blood tests to rule out thyroid, diabetes, etc, my GP and I concluded that it’s probably perimenopause and I started HRT nearly a month ago.

I’m on 2 pumps of oestrogel in the morning and 200mg of utrogestan in the evening. So far, if anything, my symptoms are worse, and now I have the added health anxiety that my symptoms are a sign that the HRT has given me a blood clot or something.

How long before the HRT starts to work on my symptoms, if it’s going to? Should the anxiety have started to ease yet? I honestly feel as if I’m going mad.

Yep you should be taking 200mg for 12-14 days a month as you are peri and you have a withdrawal bleed when you stop it. if you have not had a period for a year and are menopausal you take 100mg everyday. I would not have any now for 2 weeks then do 2 weeks or 12days on and 2 weeks off or pick a date in 2 weeks take for 12 days and start it the same date each month.
