Can anyone help please, this has been happening the most of this year, a few days before any bleeding I am thinking all sorts. I can't go on like this anymore. Once the bleeding kicks in mood improves until the next time.

Problem is I am perimenopausal and can have bleeding every 10 days or so. I am on 50 conti combined patches and these were working well for the first 2 years. This year I have felt all symptoms coming back and now the added bonus of this. My Gp is the most useless man I have ever encountered, there is no other option of a different Gp, and no other Gp surgery taking on patients in the area. Today is a bad day with these thoughts, I'm on my own, partner at work and adult son who is my only real support is sick in bed.

Are my hormone levels too low, too high? Any advice please anyone.

@Tootsey11 This explains the criteria to use continuous combined HRT.

If you are using this, it's possibly why your bleeds are erratic. (wrong product for peri.)

I am on the combined type from day one as this was advised by gynaecology due to endometriosis. They have no real idea whether I am peri or post. I had no bleeding at all apart from a bit of spotting for over a year. Put on conti in Oct 20. First bleeding first week of Jan, then first week of Feb, then first week of Mar, then last week of Mar, then 2 weeks later, then whenever.

@JinglingSpringbells I should have said my bleeds have always been erratic, I never had a regular cycle, ever. My body does not work like that. Something that no amount of explaining to doctors will they ever understand.

I'm on continuous and I'm peri. It's totally possible and suits some women better. In my case my gynaecologist prescribed it due to adenomyosis.

God love you and can so understand as always suffered so bad before my period. Was on hrt 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off utrogesterone and it was making me suicidal as have sensitivity to my own progesterone so as I was on hrt for a year changed to continuous hrt so instead of taking 200 (2 tablets) progesterone nightly I only take one nightly with no break and that way is not a big surge of hormones and it has helped a lot. I take Oestrogel also daily few pumps. It is worth going to doctor or trying to get the money together to see a menopause specialist as know how awful it is as I used to feel like throwing myself off a bridge. Try to cut out sugar, any rubbish days before and take some walks. Shocking so many women suffer so much throughout their life and feel so alone, big hugs and hope you feel better soon.

Also I was having very heavy bleeds and got my bloods done and have underactive thyroid and ask your doctor to check thyroid and also antibodies as this really affects our periods.

Obviously something like endo, or adenomyosis, is another issue and the OP didn't mention that.

@JinglingSpringbells i mentioned I had endo in my second post.
