I am well into menopause after a hysterectomy 7 years ago and have been on estrogen patches for 2 years. I am mostly OK and symptoms more or less in check, but every few months I have a real dip.
This time of year for some reason is always a bad period. Last year on 23rd December I had my first ever panic attack, before I started HRT I had a horrendous Christmas riddled with anxiety over my health mostly. I can feel this starting to come back a bit, I have just booked a blood test at the doctor for 5th january as my cholesterol is far too high as diagnosed in October and despite having made significant changes to my diet and having lost a stone, I'm worried about what the tests will show. A throwaway comment from the GP has also concerned my about my liver health - probably cholesterol related, but a worry. I am trying to do all the things I know help me like mindfulness and getting out for a walk, weather permitting, but the idea of slapping on an extra half patch for a week or two is appealing... any point?
