HRT absorption and COVID

I have early menopause, so HRT is essential for me. I've been on the same dose for 6 years and it's worked very well. I have COVID and the gel no longer works at all. I've rubbed 6 pumps into my skin - usually use 2, and nothing. I feel like my world has ended. Has anyone had any experience with this?

I don't know if I have had covid - never tested positive, but I have had an implant fitted after 7 years of using the gel as I am simply no longer absorbing it. Is it possible that the gel formulation has changed? In my case it isn't the change of bottle which has been highlighted on another thread as I am still using the old shaped ones?

Hi, I'm going to speak with my specialist about getting the implant.
I was using the bottle last week (before covid) and absorbing it well. Keep trying to rub more and more in, but nothing.

Do the implants work well for you?

Early days as only had it fitted 3 weeks ago but do seem to have more energy

That's good. Do you mind me asking where you have it done and what dose you are on?

I would suggest it’s the Covid making you feel crap and not necessarily your gel has stopped working.

See what happens after you’re better, and be careful using 6 pumps. What progesterone do you take?

Oh you’ve made me wonder now…..I use patches but I’m now onto day 42 without a bleed (which is unusual for me) and I had Covid 2 weeks ago. After one of the jabs I had a really long cycle so I wonder if it’s related??

COVID definitely impacts menstrual bleeding, have read so many posts about it. When I first tested positive for COVID I started bleeding...

day 43......I feel like a barrage balloon and have gained over 1kg in the last week, I don't think I've ever wanted to have a period so much!!
