Periods just stopped suddenly

I'm curious to know if anyone has ever experienced a menopause as stated in the title basically.

At the beginning of 2022, I had what I can only describe as the worst period of my life. It lasted on and off for 8 weeks. I went to my GP as a result of this, had various investigations and was told I had adenomyosis. There weren't signs of anything more sinister and so was told it might be the start of the menopause.

My periods were reasonably normal for a year after but since July I haven't had a period at all. Around this time I had a couple of months of feeling just not quite myself just after - really hot and tired the whole time.

I've gained a little weight around my middle, have bit of IBS which wasn't there before and have started waking early in the morning. Part of me is hoping this is normal and I have got off lightly with my menopause. Or do I need to see my doctor about them suddenly stopping.

Have you done a pregnancy test?

No, but I'm pretty sure I'm not. Timings wouldn't match when my periods stopped and I haven't had any symptoms other than stopped periods.
