Hrt after subtotal hysterectomy

I’ve just been prescribed hrt (oestrogen only) to manage the symptoms I’m experiencing (mainly insomnia and problems with regulating body temperature) but my oestradiol levels come consistently high in blood tests (done them privately). The hrt nurse just stated ‘this is the standard therapy we offer’.
How is adding more oestrogen going to help? I’m confused and a bit apprehensive to start, the symptoms are bad enough as they are now…
