Posted this on another thread but no replies. Can anyone please help? I missed my period altogether last month then it came on out of the blue a few days ago and is horrendous! Flooding, clots and cramps. I'm 51. I have to go to work like this and it's flooding and leaking through my trousers. I have aching all over and look like a ghost I'm so pale. I remember my DM was the same in menopause.
I have tried all sorts of HRT and nothing has worked for me. Is it worth getting a coil fitted? When will the periods stop altogether? It won't be worth having it fitted if this is hopefully my last period!
Thanks x

was happening to me. You need a scan of your womb to make sure nothing that needs surgical management is there. If all ok, consider the coil but if that doesn’t work for you/appeal, a combo of tranexamic acid and mefanamic acid taken during periods did wonders for me (obviously provided you are able to take them and don’t have any contraindications to them.)

Thanks for bothering to post. So what happened with your scan then? Did they find anything?
