Combined pill?

Hi!
I’m in my late 40s and am likely peri-menopausal. Long cycle, short cycle occasional severe anxiety and depression but my work is also shit so it could be stress.
My DH has had a long overdue medical procedure and we’re going to try to revive our sex life after kids. Vasectomy clinic has a long waiting list.
Would the combined pill help my peri and also prevent any surprises?

My nurse has put me on the combined pill and said it will be similar to HRT as it's adding hormones. I don't have a lot of faith in that though!

Ok! I’ll be cautious then.

I think the hormones in pill and hrt are different. I was on the combined pill for years and was OK, then got loads of peri symptoms which the pill didnt help with. So went onto hrt. HRT is more natural hormones that are closer to your own. But the pill could work for you, as it does for others.

I was told there aren't enough hormones in the pill, in the last few weeks after being on HRT since March I'm not convinced there are enough hormones in my HRT any more either so need to go back to the GP before I hurt someone for breathing in my general direction.

Well I had the doctors phone me the other day to tell me to stop taking the pill. The consultant endocrinologist told them they shouldn't have put me on it because they don't know why my hormones are low (I'm convinced peri meno).

So now I have to come off the pill and cause a new flurry of hormone fluctuations.

I'm so fed up. OP - it's good you are too old!
