Night sweats -Please give me your survival tips!

The night sweats are driving me crazy. Some nights aren’t too dramatic, other nights I have had to get up, get changed (I wear an oversized cotton tshirt and cotton knickers to bed) sometimes twice and change the sheets. It’s awful, it’s disturbing my sleep but what I’m hating at the moment is that I’m going to bed cold (thin summer duvet), having awful night sweats, then when I cool my skin I’m cold again and often cold in the morning. It’s either cold or roasting away like a pig on a spitfire.

Did anyone find anything to cope with night sweats?! I’ve heard taking an antihistamine can help, anyone know if this is true?

Thanks

Crazy suggestion maybe but, are you sure your warm enough?

I get really sweaty at night when I'm not warm enough and my body is trying t on heat me up.

Extra blanket might be worth a try?

Cool gel mat in my pillowcase helps

Definitely recommend the become menopausal nightys and also the vest tops - size up as someone already said . They are a game changer for sure! Also sage tablets and hrt!! Smile best of luck with it all it's horrible and quite soul destroying I found! Daffodil don't get me wrong I still get them slightly at different times of the month but no where like they were before all the things I've suggested!

Progesterone and they were gone.

Night sweats (rather than daytime hot flushes for some reason) were the first of my pesky peri symptoms to go when I started HRT and that happened before I titrated the dose up, too. They've come back a bit to some extent but I think I'm suffering from oestrogen fluctuations from my natural cycle (I'm going through a phase of sore breasts too) and they're not as bad as they were, at all.

I still keep a fresh cotton top by the bed in case I need to change in the night! Like you, I go to bed really cold and wake up 3am dripping!
