Is sudden belly perimenopause?

I have the mirena coil and have for ten years and plan to renew next summer so cannot tell by periods where my body is in terms of perimenopause/menopause. Generally I feel ok, achy hips, skin getting dryer, collagen definitely good for me when I remember to take it though so some signs of change.

I have recently put on 3kgs. I think some of then must be due to weight lifting (started 2 years ago and have been building up) as most of my body looks ok. However I suddenly have a tummy! I thought it was bloating and sticky out and felt like it happened overnight but I have to accept that it is a wedge of fat that has suddenly arrived and found a home on my middle.

I do love sugar but that's not too bad at the moment, I eat a lot of fruit and veg and protein. I do however drink quite a bit (helps with a lot of stress the last two years...) - I am also stressed. Do I really have to stop drinking?! I love my wine 😂
