Nosebleeds and menopause

Does anyone know of any links between peri/menopause and recurrent nosebleeds? Dr Google is very vague on this.

There is a long backstory about HRT with me but essentially nosebleeds began about a year to eighteen months ago. They seemed to stop when I was on patches. The GP took me off the patches (spurious reasons) and I was off HRT for a few months. Nosebleeds again.

Went back on patches again. Allergic to them. Taken off . Now on Sequi which I have been on before about a year ago and had no nosebleeds. But after half a month of Sequi I've had a nosebleed.

Pharmacist misunderstood me totally in a phone appointment (when discussing what to do because of allergy to patches) and said she knew of no link between HRT and nosebleeds.

Just been to nurse ' no, I know of no link. You must have an infection. Here, take this cream for a week.' An infection ? For a year? I don't think so...

The nosebleeds occur about once a fortnight, always at night and I wake up choking or aware of blood in my nose. They aren't prolonged or heavy but it's not fun.

Yes I get this too and when I asked my Dr she said it's thinning of the mucous membranes due to low oestrogen. Little blood vessels then can break causing your nose to bleed. I get dried blood up my nose about once a month and then it settles. Dr told me HRT would fix it but I haven't started it yet.

Yep I have this since menopause, they used to be spontaneous but now as time goes on just generally happens when I blow my nose, it’s annoying, think it’s down to thinning membrane like @tootsierubs says.

OK, that would make sense! And would indeed explain why they stopped on HRT.
